BOTULINUM
(Toxin from Bacillus botulinus)
The poisoning of botulinum toxin suggests a pattern of bulbar palsy. Ptosis of the eyelids, blurred or double vision, paralysis of accommodation, pupillary areflexia, strabismus. Difficulty swallowing and breathing, choking, out liquids through the nose, mouth dry. Dizziness.
Difficulty speaking. Weakness and instability when walking. Cramps in the
stomach. Burning thirst. Expression and mask, by paralysis of facial muscles, head drop by paralysis of the muscles of the neck. Severe constipation. Dysphonia. No reflexes. Oliguria or anuria.
Weakness in the respiratory movements. It may be interesting to think of its use in cases of botulism and Heine Medin.
