Cancer that begins in cells that line certain internal organs and have properties glandular (secretory), such as those lining the inside of the colon and rectum (the glands produce substances such as enzymes, mucus, chemicals, hormones, sweat or other chemicals used or secreted by the body). Over 95% of colorectal cancers are this type.
