Secretory epithelial cells, triangular shape located at the top of the kidneys, which produce hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, steroids, cortisol, cortisone, and chemicals such as adrenaline (epinephrine), norepinephrine and dopamine. When the glands produce a number of more or less hormones than required by the body, disease may occur.
