B rosette. Definition

Medical Definition: B rosette

Property with B cells (with surface receptors for the Fc portion of immunoglobulins) to produce rosettes with erythrocytes coated with anti-erythrocyte antibodies (eg., D-coated red blood cells of anti-D). It is called the EA rosette test (erythrocyte-antibody), it requires no plug. These cells are mostly negative theta. It is a good marker of B lymphocytes than other cells because B cells have this marker, such as monocytes, activated T cells and cells K. Moreover, not all B cells have receptors for the Fc portion of immunoglobulins.
