A substance being studied in the treatment of cancer. The belinostat may block enzymes needed for cell division and may kill cancer cells. You can also prevent the formation of blood vessels that tumors need to grow and make tumor cells more sensitive to other anticancer drugs. It is a type of inhibitor of histone deacetylase (HDAC), a type of angiogenesis inhibitor and a type of chemosensitizer. Also called PXD101.
