Medical Definition: CIN 2 and 3

A condition in which abnormal cells grow in the thin layer of tissue that lines the cervix (lower narrow part of the uterus). These abnormal cells are not malignant (cancerous) but can turn cancerous. IAS 2 and 3 has features of CIN grade 2 and grade 3 CIN. Also called cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grades 2 and 3.
