Biomolecules organic polyols formed by a group aldehyde or ketone. It owes its name, and carbohydrates, to its empirical formula is Cn (H2O) m although some compounds may have slightly different formulations of this general proportion. They are also called carbohydrates (sweets), glycoside, glycols and sugars. They perform energetic, plastic or structural part of cellular structures, and store information as signals of cell identity.
