A drug used to treat acute leukemias and some other cancers. Blocks certain enzymes needed for cells to multiply and repair the DNA and can also destroy cancer cells. Cerubidine is a type of anthracycline antibiotic and a type of topoisomerase inhibitor. Also called daunomycin hydrochloride and daunorubicin hydrochloride.
