Group of researchers, cancer centers and community physicians who participate in studies of new cancer treatments, prevention and early detection, general welfare and rehabilitation of patients. Clinical trials conducted by cooperative groups are sponsored by the NCI and they take part of a large number of patients in different centers. These groups are: the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG-Radiation Therapy Oncology Group), the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG-Gynecologic Oncology Group) and the Children's Oncology Group (COG-Children's Oncology Group).
