Medical Definition: Erythrodysplasia

A condition in which immature red blood cells (erythroid cells) in bone marrow in size, shape, organization or issue are abnormal. The erythrodysplasia can be caused by vitamin deficiency or chemotherapy, or it may be a sign of refractory anemia, a myelodysplastic syndrome. Also called erythroid dysplasia.
