Monoclonal antibody being studied for the treatment of cancer that has spread or not responding to other treatments. Ipilimumab is produced in the laboratory and binds to CTLA-4 molecule on T cells (a type of immune system cell). Ipilimumab can block CTLA-4 and help the immune system to destroy cancer cells. Also called MDX-010.
