Medical Definition: de-obstruction syndrome

Intense polyuria that occurs after release of obstruction kidneys acute or chronic. It manifests itself in patients who had been an obstruction to renal failure, elevated levels of creatinine. The mechanism is physiological (response of the kidney to the retention of urea, sodium and water) and pathological (secondary to impaired concentration and sodium reabsorption, caused by blockage). The clinical picture usually resolves spontaneously when the electrolyte balance to normal.
