Region and femoro-tibial joint. In the knee joint involves three bones: the femur, tibia and fibula. The joint between the femur and tibia is a double condyle, femur and patella, trochlea. The first one can perform flexion and extension, and also a slight rotation when the knee is flexed. Patellofemoral joint allows sliding of the patella in the movements of leg extension. The upper shaft of the fibula articulates with the tibia, but is not part of the knee joint.
